Running Car Catches Fire in Hyderabad

A running Maruthi car NoAP 16M 5054 on Monday suddenly caught fire, when the whole engine of the car was reduced to ashes here at Hyderguda petrol pump. However, two persons travelling in the car escaped unhurt.

A person by name Abhishek, who was in the driver's seat, suddenly stopped the running car when he heard a sudden sound and saw fumes gushing from the engine. In seconds, the engine caught fire. Also, a lady accompanying him got out of the car safely. As the car halted beside the Hyderguda petrol pump, chaotic situation prevailed in the area for some- time.

The workers of the petrol pump, who were alarmed at the happening, made attempts to extinguish the fire. They used fire extinguishers of the petrol pump to control the rising flames. The fire transformed into a blaze. At last, the fire was put out when buckets of water were poured on the engine. The first half of the car was completely burnt.
