Today exactly around 6 to 6.30 PM the panjagutta flyover collapse and at least 10 to 15 people died in this incident. This incident happen due to heavy rain in the city and it nearly rained 3 hours continuously in the city.
Rain started around 5.10 pm and it started slowly and continued to heavy rain and exactly after 1 hour the panjagutta fly over collapsed. The exact location where fly over collapsed was near petrol bunk which at nagurjuna circle and almost near to LOFT show room.
Under collapsed flyover the 4 wheelers,auto rickshaw's and cab where there.
The injured were rushed to the NIMS Hospital. Cranes, gas cutting machines and ambulances have been rushed to the spot for rescue operations, city Police Commissioner Balwinder Singh, said.Among the dead were labourers working at the site and also those trapped in the vehicles, police said.At least 15 to 20 cars, autorikshaws and two wheelers were trapped under the debris, police said.
Reason : The fall of iron scaffolding led to the collapse of fly over near Punjagutta X roads.
The traffic at the busy junction came to standstill at Punjagutta, Begumpet and Raj Bhavan road following the collapse of the fly over.

Shamshabad Airport
Shamshabad Airport also known as Rajiv Gandhi International Airport is under construction and its about 22km away from hyderabad. Its going to replace the current Begumpet airport.The group which is constructing the airport is "Hyderabad International Airport Limited (HIAL)"
The Shamshabad airport will be built on an area of 5,400 acres. The work on the flyover linking Mehdipatnam to the Shamshabad airport has started, and it is expected to be one of the biggest projects undertaken by Hyderabad Urban Development Association (HUDA). The flyover or bridge is called the Express Corridor, named P.V. Narasimha Rao Expressway, and will be 13 km long.
